Junk mail in your mailbox

When circulars and other "junk mail" become more of a burden than a diversion in your postal box, write to the various companies and ask to be removed from their mailing lists. Or you can visit the Direct Marketing Association at http://www.the-dma.org/ and click on the Remove my name from mailing lists box located in the right-hand side of the top banner. There is a $1.00 fee which verifies your registration and helps to protect their system from fraud and it will take anywhere from 30-90 days for mailings from that company to phase out. As long as you won't be faced with piles and piles of junk mail to sort through everyday it's worth the time to fill out the form. This is also really great to get your name removed from those pre-screened credit and insurance offers you are receiving.
